This support is driven by students and what is needed for them to demonstrate increased ownership of their own learning. This increased ownership will lead to elevated achievement. This student support is offered, first and foremost, by the teacher in the classroom. Thus, it is incumbent that we understand how students demonstrate ownership and then the supports teachers must offer their students. But a supportive framework doesn’t end with the teacher, for the teacher must be supported by the administration of the school and district.
And all levels are supported by Elevated Achievement Group.
The new research has an implicit message: We must model all actions on practices that promote conceptual understanding. These practices will require changes that are far from marginal. Rather than structure driving practice, teaching practice will drive structure.
Can you imagine building an environment full of motivated, engaged, and eager students who own their learning?
We can.
